About the Doctor
Dr. Denea was trained at the University of Southern California Medical School, and did his residency in psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles hospital system. He has been a board certified psychiatrist since 1979.
He subsequently completed eight years of training in psychoanalysis, and graduated as a Psychoanalyst from the Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Institute, now called the New Center for Psychoanalysis.
Dr. Denea has taught courses in psychopharmacology (psychiatric medications), psychotherapy, and psychoanalysis to psychiatric residents, psychiatrists, psychoanalytic candidates, and other practitioners.
He was in private practice in Santa Monica, California from 1978 until the earthquake in 1994. He moved his practice to upstate New York, and practiced in Saratoga Springs until 2015. He has been practicing in Saint Augustine, Florida since 2015. He moved from Flagler Hospital Outpatient Behavioral Health when the department closed, and opened his new office at the end of 2017.
